What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on method of evaluation and treatment that restores mobility, vitality and health to the body. It accelerates healing, decreases pain, increases strength and range of motion, improves sleep, digestion, cardiac function and respiration, and enhances your pet’s athletic performance.

Craniosacral Therapy was originally developed for humans by osteopaths. In the late 1990s, practitioners began to develop and refine the technique for use on dogs, horses and other animals, with remarkable results. There are now therapists in England, Europe, the United States and Australia who specialise in Canine and Equine Craniosacral therapy.

It provides relief from many conditions, including the following:

    • Arthritis
    • Spine and neck injuries
    • Lameness
    • Head injuries
    • Chronic joint pain, including jaw pain
    • Nerve irritation and pain
    • Hip dysplasia
    • Systemic disorders
    • Issues relating to the central nervous system
    • Post-surgical recovery
  • Special issues of ageing and elderly animals
