The pet food recall 2021 is one of a long list of recalls. You may argue that food recalls are infrequent- the truth of recall history is that they date back to 2005. Recalled foods are for various reasons from excess of Vitamin D to aflatoxin poisoning, or salmonella.

The fact of the matter is simple. If these were human foods the public outcry would demand stricter controls. Out pets are family, there is no reason to settle for foods or products which may cause them illness or harm.

As pet owners, a recall for a pet product affects us across continents and countries. Foods, products and devices know no borders and we trust companies and manufacturers keep pet welfare in mind. When we find them lacking, it our responsibility as pet owners and an industry to stay vigilant and keep our pets safe.
