ChatGPT  a quick reply and a solution for everyone. Cheap and quick, but we know that the devastating effect data centers have on the environment is not the only harm of consulting "AI"

AI is exactly what it's name suggests, artificial intelligence, there is no human being. No functioning brain analysing the problem at hand. When you rely on ChatGPT to answer a question- you rely on generalisations. 

After years of warning patients not to "Google symptoms" the medical community- human and animal- now has ChatGPT to be concerned about. 

Cheap Veterinary Products 

Cheap veterinary services and products are never the ultimate "bargain" because the devastating  price of bargain products is paid by your pets. 
Improper support can affect joint health or sub standard materials may cause skin rashes and irritations. 

Shopping around for a good deal is human nature. Some of us shop around longer than others and put more effort into research. The quick fix, inexpensive products are easy to source and use, but for an animal with disabilities, it may lead to an exacerbation of their condition. 

Let's say your dog has a torn tendon and the vet asks you to buy a splint. Now equate this to a human being- if you were to buy  a splint, it would be made from medical grade plastics and materials. Not lego blocks. When we're  honest with ourselves - quality costs. 

It costs because time and effort goes into design, planning, execution. Materials are carefully sourced the input and advice of experts in their fields - in this case veterinarians is essential. 
ChatGPT will design and produce a line of action- but it cannot test durability, comfort and safety.  It is catering to the customer who wants a quick fix and answer. Medical disabilities do not have quick fixes. 

Shiny, new and cheap may work with jeans and fast fashion (which comes with its own set of environmental devastation)  but your ill fitting pair of jeans can only do so much damage. It is a crime against fashion, but causes no physical injury.  But an ill fitting or flimsily manufactured medical aid (human or animal) is a disaster. 

This  does not mean only higher priced goods and services are automatically the better option. However, there are certain vital goods and services which require a discerning customer.
